MANAGING THE EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT

Three decades ago, Alvin Toffler suggested that the vision of the citizen in the tight grip of an omnipotent bureaucracy would be replaced by an organizational structure of ad-hocracy. The traditional business organization implied a social contract between employees and employers. By adhering to a fixed set of obligations and sharply defined roles and responsibilities, employees received a predefined set of rewards.

The organizational structure that Toffler predicted in 1970 became the norm 20 years later, and with it came changed concepts of authority. As organizations became more transitory, the authority of the organization and firm was replaced by the authority of the individual manager. This entrepreneurial management model is now being replicated throughout society. As a result, the individual business owner must internalize ever increasing organizational functions.

Another change in today's business environment is dealing with government agencies. Their effect on the conduct of business most recently appears to have increased. As industries fail to achieve high levels of ethical behavior or individual businesses exhibit specific lapses, the government rushes in to fill the breach with its regulations.

Gunadarma University In My Eyes

I will tell you about Gunadarma University. In my opinion, facilities of Gunadarma are quiet good and satisfactory. Plus, campus D with its new building. The library is quiet luxurious and comfortable. The internet nework not so well. Its be the drawbacks.

Tuition fee in Gunadarma isn't expensive. covers to all people. But, the other drawbacks is because how to pay the tuition fee just only in Gunadarma University. I think it will be easy if the tuition fee can be pay on the outside of university area. I'm pretty proud about all lecturers were very nice and friendly. That's make me little bit motivated to learning and studying.

With sufficient learning system that is quite excellent, it's make me comfortable. The ILab has advanced system. I'm proud that maybe I just know in here we has ILab experiences. In here, I have many friends that pretty nice and humble from various regions. Gunadarma University distance is too far, that make difficult for students.

My expectation for Gunadarma University, I hope Gunadarma will be better and better in the future. Although now, Gunadarma been pretty good. I'm proud to be here!

Budaya

Kota Bandar Lampung merupakan sebuah kota, sekaligus ibu kota provinsi Lampung, Indonesia. Secara geografis, kota ini menjadi pintu gerbang utama pulau Sumatera, tepatnya kurang lebih 165 km sebelah barat laut Jakarta, memiliki andil penting dalam jalur transportasi darat dan aktivitas pendistribusian logistik dari Jawa menuju Sumatera maupun sebaliknya.
Kota Bandar Lampung memiliki luas wilayah daratan 169,21 km² yang terbagi ke dalam 20 Kecamatan dan 126 Kelurahan dengan populasi penduduk 902.885 jiwa (berdasarkan data tahun 2012), kepadatan penduduk sekitar 4.578 jiwa/km² dan diproyeksikan pertumbuhan penduduk mencapai 2,4 juta jiwa pada tahun 2030. Saat ini kota Bandar Lampung merupakan pusat jasa, perdagangan, dan perekonomian di provinsi Lampung.




Wilayah Kota Bandar Lampung pada zaman kolonial Hindia Belanda termasuk wilayah Onder Afdeling Telokbetong yang dibentuk berdasarkan Staatsbalat 1912 Nomor : 462 yang terdiri dari Ibukota Telokbetong sendiri dan daerah-daerah disekitarnya. Sebelum tahun 1912, Ibukota Telokbetong ini meliputi juga Tanjungkarang yang terletak sekitar 5 km di sebelah utara Kota Telokbetong (Encyclopedie Van Nedderland Indie, D.C.STIBBE bagian IV).
Ibukota Onder Afdeling Telokbetong adalah Tanjungkarang, sementara Kota Telokbetong sendiri berkedudukan sebagai Ibukota Keresidenan Lampung. Kedua kota tersebut tidak termasuk ke dalam Marga Verband, melainkan berdiri sendiri dan dikepalai oleh seorang Asisten Demang yang tunduk kepada Hoof Van Plaatsleyk Bestuur selaku Kepala Onder Afdeling Telokbetong.
Pada zaman pendudukan Jepang, kota Tanjungkarang-Telokbetong dijadikan shi (Kota) dibawah pimpinan seorang shichō (bangsa Jepang) dan dibantu oleh seorang fukushichō (bangsa Indonesia).
 

Hari jadi kota Bandar Lampung ditetapkan berdasarkan sumber sejarah yang berhasil dikumpulkan, -terdapat catatan bahwa berdasarkan laporan dari Residen Banten William Craft kepada Gubernur Jenderal Cornelis yang didasarkan pada keterangan Pangeran Aria Dipati Ningrat (Duta Kesultanan) yang disampaikan kepadanya tanggal 17 Juni 1682 antara lain berisikan: “Lampong Telokbetong di tepi laut adalah tempat kedudukan seorang Dipati Temenggung Nata Negara yang membawahi 3.000 orang” (Deghregistor yang dibuat dan dipelihara oleh pimpinan VOC halaman 777 dst.)-, dan hasil simposium Hari Jadi Kota Tanjungkarang-Telukbetung pada tanggal 18 November 1982 serta Peraturan Daerah Nomor 5 Tahun 1983 tanggal 26 Februari 1983 ditetapkan bahwa hari Jadi Kota Bandar Lampung adalah tanggal 17 Juni 1682.
